The Peak Tower|Joyful Miniature Association Presents “Hong Kong: Through the Looking Glass Miniature Exhibition” at The Peak Tower

Description
The Joyful Miniature Association, dedicated to showcasing Hong Kong to the world through exquisite craftsmanship, is proud to present its first-ever “Hong Kong: Through the Looking Glass Miniature Exhibition” from April 25 to June 23, 2025, at The Peak Tower, supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) Pilot Scheme for Characteristic Local Tourism Events and sponsored by public and private institutions, including The Peak Tower Limited. The exhibition highlights Hong Kong landmarks, customs, and unique lifestyles, allowing the public to experience the city's charm up close. It marks not only the association’s debut at this iconic location but also its longest miniature exhibition in Hong Kong.
Exhibition Highlights:
The exhibition showcases 24 miniature art pieces, including 7 new miniatures:
1. Kai Tak Sports Park – A newly unveiled Hong Kong landmark.
2. Kowloon Walled City – Recreation of the Legend and inspired by its unique history and a blockbuster film.
3. Night Vibes Temple Street – Capturing the city’s vibrant nightlife.
4. Race of Champions – Depicting thrilling finishes of champion horses.
5. A Corner of the Goldfish Street – Featuring hundreds of colourful goldfish.
6. Ngong Ping 360 – The iconic cable car journey.
7. Western District Pier – Revisiting Hong Kong’s transhipment history.
These works, created by a team of over 100 artisans, blend cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship. The exhibition vividly portrays a miniature version of Hong Kong, showcasing the fusion of old and new, East and West, with dynamic and lifelike details.
Ms. Carmen, Poon Lai-king, President of the Joyful Miniature Art Society President, remarked, “This is our longest exhibition to date and our first time hosting at a prime tourist spot like The Peak Tower. Our goal is to create a condensed journey of Hong Kong’s essence within just a few steps. One of the highlights is the 5th generation Peak Tram miniature model, displayed at the Peak Tram terminal. This exhibition serves a dual purpose: to become a tourist attraction itself through its intricate creations and to inspire visitors to explore the real-life locations depicted in the miniatures. With over 15 years of history, 150 artworks, and more than 50 exhibitions worldwide, we’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Inspired by the success of miniature art museums in Hamburg, Little Tokyo, and Miniature Canada, we dream of establishing a permanent miniature art museum in Hong Kong. We are grateful to the HKTB Pilot Scheme for giving us this opportunity to take the first step toward realizing this dream.”
Additionally, the exhibition will feature the popular classic piece “Victoria Harbour,” accompanied by computer-animated fireworks, as well as the “The Peak Tram,” “Man Mo Temple,” “Maxim’s Palace, Central City Hall,” “Lan Kwai Fong,” “Stone Slab Street,” “Sha Tin Dragon Boat Race,” and “Giant Panda Adventure at Ocean Park,” showcasing Hong Kong's landmarks and cultural characteristics. During the exhibition, there will also be a miniature workshop where local artists will teach participants how to create models of Hong Kong-style café dishes, which they can take home as souvenirs. For more details, please follow Joyful Miniature Association, The Peak Tram and The Peak Tower on social media.
To promote social inclusion, the exhibition will host special visits for underprivileged groups, including “The Strive and Rise Programme” participants and primary and secondary school students.
The exhibition is sponsored by The Peak Tower Limited, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Emperor Entertainment, Maxim’s Group, Po Chai Pills, and HOKA Sports Brand.
